How many times do you use ctrl-z or Undo without realising? How many times does MS Paints 3-Undo-history get in the way... or even worse, when there is no Undo option?

What was the last thing you "undid"?

Undo features can be inplemented on websites, Back, breadcrums and home buttons all help on a site... it's part of usability!

Point of this topic? Undo is Underrated!

I don't remember I have ever used that feature ever since I learned how to use the computer. Does this show I still have a lot more to learn  to effectively operate the computer?

Even Firefox and IE have an undo feature for textareas. Left click a text area and select Undo to undo your last action. I've used it many times like if I accidentally overwrote a long bit of text. Undo is definitely a life saver!

I was able to undo my last action by right-clicking the text area.

You did not have to mention that, pentapenguin. Who doesn't make mistakes anyway?

its a god send when doing cad work and u do something stupid like deleting your whole design. i do hate the undo limit of some programs, my cad software for example only allows one undo which is a real pain. however my text editor has unlimited. so i do wonder why all programs can't compensate "unlimited" undos. anyone know? other then for some programs an "action" has to be stored as a large quantity of memory (relative to other programs) ie drawing a line would take more memory then a string of text...but is there any other reasons?

the undo button is awesome though
