Fans include Kate Middleton, George W Bush and Prince Williams on-off girlfriend.
The american company started making the shoes 5 years ago and expecting sales to climb to 400 million pounds this year.
They cost 29.99 for a single pair!
Do you own a pair?
Why are we all going wild about Crocks?
Wikipedia says:
Based in Boulder, Colorado, the firm was created to market a lightweight plastic shoe first developed and manufactured by Foam Creations, Inc. of Canada. Originally intended as a boating/outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant, non-marking sole, Crocs introduced its first model, the Crocs Beach, in November 2002 at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, selling out the 200 pairs produced at that time.[2] Despite only a small marketing campaign, Crocs became popular in the United States and elsewhere, because of (according to the company) word of mouth praise for their comfort, bright colors, light weight (about six ounces), and heretofore unique design.

While many regard the crocs shoes as comfortable and colorfully decorated, some see them as a fashion disaster and even a sub culture has emerged of people who refuse to date spouses who wear crocs shoes. A Washington Post article named "Not Such A Croc" published August 1, 2006 described the phenomenon:
Quote:
"Nor is the fashion world enamored of Crocs. Though their maker touts their "ultra-hip Italian styling,"
lots of folks find them hideous, as evidenced on blogs like [3], where Croc-bashers abound. And don't get Stacy London, co-host of The Learning Channel's "What Not to Wear," started. London knocks Crocs for making wearers' legs look heavy and short and notes that there are other "comfort shoes" that are more flattering." A blog named "I Hate Crocs dot com." [4] follows those resistance developments daily.
I don't really see the big deal and I personally find them rather uncomfortable but my cousin, my ex-gf and quite a few of my friends have been raving about them for the past few months.
On a side note, I'm sure Kate Middleton is Prince Williams on/off ex-girlfriend.
