I was just wondering if any of you have heard of Wolfmother, a three-piece rock band from Sydney. If you're from Australia, then you probably have. I think they're pretty good. Their style is kinda like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, with a more modern twist - perhaps a bit of Indie mixed in.
Sweet. Someone else that likes Wolfmother. Hey bhercules, you should try some tours/promotions/whatever in Australia. They really dig british humour there.
They're ok - rather unusual, but original. Beats all the mainstream crap flying out of radio stations today. I'm more into classic rock - AC/DC, Led Zep, The Who, Cream. And I also like Metal - Metallica, predominantly. I don't mind classical music either, but only certain composers.
Australia is really becoming a cool place for musicians - older styles of rock e.g. Wolfmother, Jet, Powderfinger are common, as well as newer types e.g. The Living End (modern punk), The Veronicas (pop/rock). It's pretty cool for comedy and theatre too - cities like Melbourne have a similar 'fringe' atmosphere to Edinburgh - it's becoming a real "arts" venue. Just thought that you might want to look into focussing in Australia, as you could potentially do well, in terms of popularity, there. The US is an obvious starting point though.
