What is the difference between DDR2 standard in motherboards? Im buying memory clocked at 800mhz and I want to know that if I buy a motherboard with a DDR2 Standard lower than 800 if the memory would work or perform the same.
The memory will only work as fast as the slower standard (whether the mobo or memory has slower speed). So, if you have a mobo that supports up to 600, and your mem is 800, it will run at 600. But on the flip side, if your memory is 800, and your mobo supports up to 1066, it will still only run 800.
