I've heard about this for a while now (although not necessarily on this forum) about people that stick to one company no matter what, vigorusly upholding the honour of the company like a shinning knight.
To me brand loyalty just seems like putting yourself in a self imposed cage, limiting your self to what else is on offer. So what makes people staunch supporters of one company? Does brand loyalty exist because of games like zelda and halo or is it something else?
If I have the money I'll get a 360 and a PS3. I won't swear fealty to one console, why should I? I see a market of computer games, not consoles. They are just an annoying formality in between being able to play them.
Is that the same as being a fanboy? Nintendo and Sony Fanboys arnd stereotypes especially with the PS2 are often seen, but fanboys and stereotypes often come with MMORPG's too. I think being a fan boy leads to brand loyalty, which is the intent of the brand companies in some respects anyway
