Jangl is a new service which aims to provide every email in the world a phone number. How can this be possible? Well here's how because im a member of Jangl you go to jangl.com and enter in my email address: williamtildesley@gmail.com you then can either login or register (important as the call may wish to contact you back) and enter in your details.
You are then given a local number on which to call me, so because I live in the UK they gave me a Glasgow tlephone number to call the guys at Diggnation.com (even though they are based in San Francisco). I then leave them a voice mail and hang up.
Once I send a voice mail they get a notification via email saying someone has sent them a voice mail - they can either access the voice mail through the site or ring the Jangl voicemail access line to listen to their emails on the road. What's so cool is that they can send you a voicemail back without either of you having to know each other's telephone numbers.
Also you don't rack up a huge bill because you've been talking to someone in America and your from the UK. How's that done? I believe through voip.
You don't need any application on your phone - so it can work with any phones including voip lines - landlines and mobile phones and you can keep private information such as your telephone number private.
On your control panel through the internet you can build up an address book of contacts and if you want to talk to someone and not just leave voice mail then you can set it to that their call is routed to your phone.
At the moment apart from using it to phone people I use it to leave to-do notes and reminders - like jott.com allows you to - and then I can listen to my voicemail later in the day and remind myself as to what I have to do.
So if you want to try out jangl.com and would like to talk with me, leave some feedback on iVirtua please call me, my email address is williamtildesley@gmail.com
