After a long, torrential season of shooters, the streets have become quiet as the gunfire fades. Of course,Activision and Infinity Ward aren't happy about that, so the pair hasannounced that new downloadable content is currently in the works forthe Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Call of Duty 4.
The new content will include an unspecified number of new maps, as wellas some additional play modes to add to the game's already substantialroster. Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling explains:
Quote:
We’ve demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfareand that continues with our plans for new downloadable content. We’reexcited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and wecan’t wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone.
No word was given on price or release date. Call of Duty 4 was my personal favorite shooter of 2007, so I'm anxious to get my hands on the maps. Expect hands-on impressions when they launch later this year.
