I'm not seeing where it says that it is refurbished...

I missed that, sorry. But would you care to take a look at the user reviews? I wouldn't put 400$ into a card where 2/3 people had theirs artifacting, one of them even failing....

You cannot simply take the FPS difference from one test and add it onto the result from another test...

Would you care to explain why not? The results are almost always relative to each other. The only thing different test configurations do is increase or decrease the FPS by a certain constant for just about all the games. If they are not, then there is something much different about the tests, such as some cards using older drivers, etc.

I think you also missed this article:

http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2552&p=10

Care to tell me where the 7800GTX gets defeated except for about 3 tests?

And...

http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/02/vga_charts_viii/

In some of those, the 6800 Ultra even beats the X1800XT.

There is something much different about the tests. The first article where the FPS is higher actually is the one using the FX-55 with 1GB of RAM. The second article is using an FX-57 and 2GB of RAM and gets lower FPS.
