EXCLUSIVE: New Call of Duty 5, Guitar Hero IV, New Tony Hawk Confirmed?
A fact sheet on the newly-live Activision Blizzard web site ( Video game giants in $18bn merger ) seems to have announced the forthcoming release of Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero IV - both titles that have previously not been mentioned.
Available here:
http://www.activisionblizzard.com/factSheet/index.php
If you cannot access this we have attached the fact sheet here in this post.
The fact sheet, which lists various strengths on both Activision and Vivendi also refers to a "new Tony Hawk", "James Bond", "new Marvel titles", "new dreamworks titles" and an "entry into racing with Bizarre."
The factsheet also detailed:
Quote:
Combination of Activision and Vivendi Games will create the world’s largest and most profitable pure-play video game publisher
Transaction combines Activision’s top selling franchises with Vivendi Games’ portfolio of leading PC and subscription-based online games
Activision Blizzard will be the only publisher with leading market positions across all categories of the rapidly growing interactive entertainment
industry
After closing, immediately will become global leader in dynamic, high margin subscription-based online games business with opportunity to
migrate Activision franchises online
Combination creates company with large footprint in the fast-growing Asian markets, including China and Korea, while maintaining strong
operating performance across North America and Europe
Activision Blizzard is expected to have $3.8 billion in pro forma calendar 2007 revenues and the highest operating margins of any major third
party video game publisher
Targeted pro forma operating income of $1.1 billion and pro forma EPS in excess of $1.20 in calendar year 2009
We tried to contact Activision who declined to comment or confirm any of the titles. None of them are major shocks but the franchises involved mean a sequel to them is inevitable anyway.
The companies behind Call of Duty and World of Warcraft are merging in a deal a few days ago also reported by iVirtua Community (UK) which could shake up the global video games industry.
Activision and Blizzard have said they will form "the world's most profitable games business" in a deal worth $18.8bn (£9.15bn).
No additional details, possible release dates or information about the games' contents were revealed.
What dreamworks titles could there be? Any additional thoughts?
