I never based my theory on one topic. I have read it multiple times, this was the only one I could find @ the time, as you can see I have stated in my post. Secondly, how can you say that there is no difference between 8MB & 16MB cache? There is *a lot* of difference in performance, so there is a difference between Maxtor's 16MB & Seagate's 8MB. I understand your RAM aspect, but the best RAM is the best RAM. If he has the money, he should go for it.

Thirdly, the board I suggested was the Neo4, not Neo2. Read my original post. :r Besides Xbit Labs & some other review sites gave the Neo4 Platinum/SLI their \"Best SLI Motherboard\" award. I am an active member of several other forums besides this one and the IFSZ, and I've seen people's comments regarding MSI. Besides, MSI is a known brand and is very reliable and dependable. If you did not know that, then all I have to say is wow.

I never said ChainTech wasn't; it's just a notion of you want high class or low class. MSI is clearly a better brand than ChainTech. Besides, the ChainTech board you recommended does not even have Firewire. What nForce 4U motherboard will not have Firewire? :guh:

Your comparison between MSI vs. ChainTech is like saying ASUS is better than DFI/ABIT for overclocking. :r

I said there would be no noticable difference in real-world performance between 8MB cache and 16MB cache.

My point with the board is how you were basing your opinion on MSI being more reliable with the Neo2 having so many problems.  Also Chaintech is a very well known company and is veryt reliable and dependable.  If he is not overclocking it would be better to not waste your money.

I would actually like to know what they are.  It seems to me every forum you do visit is full of n00bs.

Just because one board has problems does not mean the company is bad. ABIT had problems with exploding capacitators. Does that mean ABIT is a bad company? NO.

And how can you say 16MB cache has no real world performance difference over 8MB cache?...

Here are some awards the Neo4 Platinum/SLI has won:

AnandTech Editor's Choice: http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2358&p=21
Viper Lair Editor's Choice: http://www.viperlair.com/reviews/cpu_mobo/...k8nsli/p4.shtml
AMDZone Editor's Choice: http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?op=modl...rtid=128&page=1
Hot Hardware Editor's Choice: http://hothardware.com/viewarticle.cfm?articleid=678
GDHardware Grabit Dude Award: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/newsrelease/...age.php?UID=426

That should be enough proof. :r

Not argueing. Just a simple debate. ;)

Another great and not too expensive nF4U motherboard is the EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra. http://www.epox.com/USA/product.asp?id=EP-9NPAplusULTRA

I never said the ChainTech was bad. I am not in any position to say this because I have never used this motherboard. But, if it already works fine for you, then I would recommend the same for Outrage.

In general usage, in windows, you won't notice more than 8 mb disk cache because of the windows disk cache etc.
