Yep, thats it, Anime is a style, often confused with Hentai, and of course the Anime Porn (Refer to my post above).
I don't like the Anime style to be honest, or the story lines, maybe it's because Eastern people have bad vision and can only draw simply, with those horrible sharp lines, and barrel distortion.
Hentai IS anime porn.
But anyway, anime's simplistic style is so because it was created post war, and at that time, they didn't have huge resources to create their animations. So simplistic drawing styles were the order of the day and have stuck through to the present.
Animated material which does not fit the traditional conventions of Western animation, such as Japanese anime are often confused with the definition of cartoons. Anime comprises an entirely different genre in and of itself, giving it a distinguishable quality setting it apart from cartoons.
I am not really intrested in cartoons anymore, however when i was, i love'd Digmon!! LOL.... That was when i was younger!!!
I resent the comment about anime being cartoons.
It's not a cartoon, they are drama presented in an animated style.
If its a light hearted and aimed at children, then yes it can be a cartoon. But how would you classify things like My Parents are Aliens? Byker Grove and Childrens Ward. All are acted dramas aimed at a younger age range but they aren'y cartoons.
I feel you are unfairly painting with a large brush.
360 is great, keep it hooked up to Live all the time and you have on demand multiplayer. Do not underestimate the addictivness of Live and those damn achievements really drag out a games life, gotta get 'em all (pinched from Nintendo)
The Wii looks like the most exciting, new ways to play, games not focus on added shininess and the Nintendo factor. In the ideal world, this console will win this generation, but its not and that leaves only the victor...
PS3. I hate the console, I hate the idiots behind it, yet I hate the idiot typing this even more because he's going to buy one anyway. But not at that hyperinflated price. I can't believe that boomerang pad was dropped for a gimmicky dual shock, why didn't they refine the design rather than just go back to its ancient design. Sony are relying on blind faith too much, but I can't see them losing out. This'll hurt even more than Marketplaces microtransactions.
Starcraft. The be all and end all of Strategy gaming.
Also, Dawn of War, Deus Ex and Half Life (series).
I'm quite partial to a bit of WoW aswell, but I'm mainly a console gamer.
At the moment, I prefer to play on my own, but with XBox Live! I like to play other people rather than the single player game, in fact, I hardly touch the single player aspect of games.
Being a big fan of fighting games, they are nothing outside of multiplayer, so its just execution practice until I get someone to play against.
How do you do, I'm a computer salesman XD I like to tinker with my PC for fun and play a load of games. At the moment my most played are:
PS2: Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, King of Fighters 2003
360: PGR3, Burnout Revenge
DS: Brain Training (Brain age of 20 oh yeah!)
PSP: LocoRoco, Tenchu and Metal Gear Ac!d
PC: Just finished Half Life 2: Episode One (took me an evening)
I'm a big fan of racing games and fighting games and I like to play RPG's every now and then.
My favorite series are Sonic the Hedgehog and King of Fighters.
Outside of games, I'm a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and assistant instructor, am and avid Doctor Who fan and enjoy watching anime.
Tabbed browsing brought me to Firfox over Opera (I tried both though), then adding all of the extensions improved it even more (like mouse gestures, fantastic!).
So now, even though I have the new IE beta installed, I still prefer Firefox because of the familiarity I have with it. So even though there may be a load of myths with it, unless someone tells me Firefox is going to blow my PC up, I'm sticking with it.
