Why even waste your money? Sell your current 6800GT and buy a single 7800GTX.

2 6800 Gt in SLI kick the s**t out of one 7800 GTX on FPS more then 30% over. 1 7800 GTX beats 2 6800 GT on quality. So pick whats more important to you . quality or FPS.

My self i pick both lol.

1 7800 GTX $600

1 7800 GT OC $800

Same core same quality

Look at some benchmarks before making such comments. 2x 6800GT's is a total waste of money when a 7800GTX would be cheaper and perform better.

Seriously, where do you get all your information? I'll be sure to never visit.

i ran 2 6800 GT in SLI 2 weeks ago 25380 in 3dmark03 and 2 7800 Gt OC in SLI 28,460 .

ran a lot of tests in fact heck look at forum wars. 2 6800 GT in SLI wipe the floor with 1 7800 GTX any day of the week in FPS.

Yeah, 2 6800GT are better than 7800GTX, but they are also a waste of money compared to it.  So, you're both right.

Actually KD,

http://hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1806/

The 6800GT's in SLI outperform the 7800GTX....

Although I do agree buying a single 7800GTX is more money-wise than 2 6800GT's.

And Josh, that link provided by Myrdaal shows the article by AnandTech on the 7800GTX. Take a look at the benchmarks.

Your joking, right? Those benchmarks were done at 1024x768. Who the heck buys 2x 6800GTs for SLI or even a 7800GTX to run at 1024x768? It is also only 3Dmark.

I really cannot believe you guys are even arguing something like this. The 7800GTxXobviously performs better then 2x 6800GT's and it is cheaper. Two 6800GT's are a waste of money. That is the bottom line.

2x 6800GTs will not be able to keep up with a single 7800GTX at all with higher resolutions.  So, in the end the single 7800GTx is the obvious bgetter choice, performing better and being cheaper.
