Here is a great site I came across for downloading small applications that do not require you to go through an installation procedure.  All you have to do is download it and run it.

USB stick based apps are so dope, a nice highly userfriendly OS for a USB stick would be the next big leap. Yeah, you can install linux onto a USB stick but it's often not exactly the most stable of setups.
