Ok, now it's not 7, but 20 http://bink.nu/Article5025.bink

Actually there are not 20. Many of them are just OEM, which still is the exact same software, just without the big book and packaging.

Well, it's still going to be like 10 or 15 if you don't count the retail and the OEM of each version.  Cause some of the OEMs there don't have a retail version along with them

OEM versions are the same thing except like someone above me said, no book or fancy packaging.  IT comes in this little cd case (its like a paper CD case) and also it isn't supported.  I like those versions better frankly.  ALOT cheaper.

I know what a OEM is.  I like them too.  But, I'm saying, there is a \"Windows Vista Starter Digital Boost - OEM\", but is there a \"Windows Vista Starter Digital Boost - Retail\"?  I don't see one.

Ditto.  Microsoft should take a page from the linux book and allow you, during installation, to choose which 'package' would suit you best instead of wasting time releasing a million different versions which will only serve to confuse a lot of people.

That would be good, except then they'd all be the same price.

It certainly wouldn't kill them to do it but you have a point there.

No, I'm not saying it would kill them - It would kill us.  They'd price everything to at or near the highest-priced one.

They probably would at that. *sigh*

If only linux had the gaming support Windows does then I could drop Windows completely.
