Fans of World of Warcraft will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the long-awaited expansion of the hugely popular game.
Blizzard has announced the release of the Burning Crusade expansion pack is now being delayed until January 2007.
The expansion, which gives players new races, territories and more powerful characters, was scheduled to appear in late 2006.
But Blizzard said more time was needed to "further refine" the extras...
So... is it possible to "complete" WoW? Its it going to continue? They will have to upgrade it and make a transferrable account or something aloing those lines, with DX 10 and Vista Coming; but will WoW lose its charm?
I heard about the delay but it doesn't really matter to me as I don't play games where you have to pay extra to play online. I still love Diablo 2 LOD and Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne on free battle.net though.
They made a bit of a mistake announcing a release date to start with, as, since then, the in game economy has gone a bit...shit But as for wow losing its appeal, i dont know. It will be interesting to see what they do with direct x10, but wow's appeal was never the fact it was graphically up to date at all, its just so bloody addictive I reckon it will basically continue till another MMO takes its place, another sufficiently addictive to take over. Interestingly, i'm not just throwing the word addictive around, it is actually proven to be addictive, and i wouldnt disagree, not when you hear of people with over 300days playtime (7200+ Hrs!!!! for those of you without a calculator or a brain) when the game itself has only been around less than two years. Its insanity, but then thats wow. I cant really talk as me and a friend went to Dennmark specifically to see our guild leader. Let the ridiculing begin...
In terms of PVP, guild wars is probably better, although blizzard are planning on resolving that with the burning crusade, but i like pve better, raiding etc and in that respect WOW wins outright
