The infamously secretive Nintendo let a few things slip in an investor report, including a confirmation that the much talked-about Animal Crossinggame for the Wii is slated for a 2008 release in Japan. The report also revealed that several titles that had fallen under the radar—Disaster: Day of Crisis and Wii Music (both of which were revealed at E3 2006)—have not been canceled and are set to be released this year as well. The upcoming Mario Kart Wii was also given the vague release window of Spring 2008.
Animal Crossing was not the only unannounced game, however, as the tentatively-titled Kirbywas also listed on the release schedule. No other information was givenabout Kirby's Wii excursion other than the fact it exists, but it's asafe bet that the game is in some way related to the tragically canceledGamecube title. While all of these titles are currently expected to bereleased in Japan this year, keep in mind that Nintendo has a historyof delaying its high-profile first-party games (*cough* Super Smash Bros. Brawl *cough*).
Thanks to Game|Life for the heads up.
