Yes it would be cool, although I think would be possible in the not too distant future as new the gen console are starting to resemble high end Pc's using high end graphics chipsets,so who knows.
Ill keep my fingers crossed I may bridge the gaming gap between console and Pc's,at least they share one important factor, Gaming of course.
I think the Gap is closing fast, with Microsoft intergrating Windows Media Center into the Xbox 360, and as you say, spec-wise they are too. The whole gaming environment aspects varies between PC and console, a very different type of person, if not more mature plays on PCs and Xboxes, and on the PS2, is a very mid-range consumer model, usually for children, and the Ninteno consoles, are usually aimed at (whatever they say with the revolution!) little kids and a very nieche audience...
The Xbox is one of the bbest, if not the best consoles for online play, and the community is very strong. The best games, in my opinion are on the Xbox or the PC.
I don't know if you notice this at all but I think consoles seem to draw more kids these days while computers are more geared towards more adults it seems. Now to answer the question about your statement on moore's law what I was trying to state was the fact that computer technology seems to change more rapidly than the console a though it seems something new comes out just about every year. I don't know where else to go with this but this could go on to be a lifetime topic.
Your right consoles are geared towards the younger generation, but the Xbox is a favourite with the adults of our globe. And computers change so quick nowadays its hard to keep up,its at least every couple of months.
Yeh I agree, the Xbox 360 is more geared towards the 'older' more mature market, and most of the features are aimed at that, however Sony wants a bit of both worlds with their new PS3. So we shall see what the future holds.

No doubt Nintendo attract a childrens method, despite attempts to attract a broad market of previously "non-gamers", whilst the PS2 is a great all rounder, i think the PS3 may be failing this time round, with the possibility of it being out of reasch of some of the PS2's audiences. Maybe they will not cease production of the PS2 to keep that other section of their valuable audience? There probably trying to chip in on th both Xbox and Nintendo's Markets. I think Microsofts Xbox Console however, will remain the only option for us "professonal" or "mature" gamers...
The truth hurts but I think the PC market as gaming platform as slowed down quite abit these last few years. There are alot of console games that have been ported to and from the pc. But I still belive the PC will be strong for years to come while consoles just come and go.
Eventually, PCs and gaming consoles will just become PCs. The gaming console industry will expand to allow users of gaming consoles to perform more tasks (e.g. read emails, go online etc.), effectively making the games console a PC. I disagree that, in the long run, games consoles are more expensive.
Where I live, the entry price of a brand-new computer game (say from Electronic Arts) is just over 15 Pounds (certainly no more than 18 Pounds). The same game on an Xbox, on the other hand, costs about 30 Pounds. True, the PC's initial costs are higher (you can do far more things on a computer than on a games console), but when it comes to comparing the price of the game, PCs win every time.
Furthermore, graphics are better on PCs, and better games (e.g. Counter-strike and Half-life 2) are available. Games such as Half-life 2 have the best graphics available - and these games are only good on a computer. Additionally, RTS and any other kind of strategy game is always better on a computer. Essentially, Xboxes owe all their success to computers - they are simply diluted versions of the personal computer, geared to simple gaming.
I think they will develop more towards that market, as with the Xbox 360, and windows media intergration, the Sega Dreamcast did have free Internet and Email Access too! We shall wait to see what the Revolution and PS3 holds...
Who really knows truely witch is better anyways. Consoles are desent for gameing only and computers can do everything else. I still take my pc over anything ive seen so far with consoles. Basically it comes to this consoles are more of a young persons thing while computers are for adults. I guess there really isn't anything else i can say about this. so my case is closed.
Where are all these numpties coming from? Ive been gaming for longer than your existence, and have a top Pc Gaming rig, and also own the Xbox and 360 and all have their places in gaming.
Of course your right computers do have better graphics, I paid over £500 just for my Sli graphics cards, but there's not that many High End PC Gamers out there with top end systems that could blow away the 360.The 360 would easily blow away most piss poor gaming computers, and is excellent value for money.
Is there really a need to slag things off you don’t own, and probably don’t understand.
We all have our opinions, but can put them over or suggest them in a more diplomatic way.
You did not need to tell us your age as your post already gives that away.
I don't know if you notice this at all but I think consoles seem to draw more kids these days while computers are more geared towards more adults it seems.
Maybe your just growing up.
As I have said in other posts, they jsut offer a different perspective to "Gaming" I say "Gaming". Comparing individual consoles is different, but comparing two different ways of playing games, I mean, it's almost like comparing driving a real car, to driving a car on your xbox; while we all have a definitive preference (I mean, in this particular debate, I prefer the PC gaming, for my own reasons) However, I also enjoy the Xbox, Its easier and more laid back to play, and your not as englufed in the game, I mean, sitting in a sofa a few feet from the screen witha comfortable controller isn't the same as close to a screen, with the keyboard and mouse, and headset offer tow equally good, and different perspective to gaming.
How can I delete posts?! I did not post the last post that I put in this forum - a friend of mine who is an extremely loyal PC gamer (obviously) posted it when I went to the bathroom yesterday. I also must apologise profusely to 800fsbang, who my friend seems to have offended . I share no such hatred for xBoxes - as demonstrated by my post, which was made earlier:
"Eventually, PCs and gaming consoles will just become PCs. The gaming console industry will expand to allow users of gaming consoles to perform more tasks (e.g. read emails, go online etc.)......"
This will not happen again - I will not leave my computer unattended in future.
I must admit it seemed odd, your posts normally seem well written and intelligent if you know what I mean, so there’s no need to apologize to me. I just prefer it if somebody disliked something, that they would give some well founded reasons, and be a bit more constructive in their critisism
