I know, I've talked about building my own desktop, but as it seems, there are more and more needs for mobile computing. I am looking into a Dell Inspiron 6000 with an upgraded HD and 512-1GB of RAM.
How efficient do you think it would be? What are some other models you would suggest?
My sister got the 6000 and is very happy with it. The widescreen is very nice. Dell computers are very good but are a ripoff unless you can find coupons for a bunch of money of of them which you usually can so usually stupid people buy for full price.
Coupons for the Inspiron 9300 and coupons for the 6000... Today I configured a Dell Inspiron 9300 for ~ $2,200. It had 2 GB of RAM, a 2.13 GHz Pentium M, a 100 GB hard drive, 17\" screen, Geforce 6800 128 MB, an 8x DVD+/- R/RW, bluetooth and 802.11 a/b/g and a 1-year warranty with at-home service. With that coupon, I coulda gotten it for $1,700... but I'm waiting for Yonah or Merom, first.
Cheerio, Dell's rule! -Pikl

A_Pickle, are those EBay [resold] coupons trustworthy? Seems to me it is an easy way to scam people. But of course, it is only a few bucks, but it's the principle of it!
