Yeah, the title really says it all, but what kind of music do you guys like? Personally I like punk and metal (Yellowcard, Breaking Benjamin, Blink-182, Green Day, Nickelback, etc...) but I also like older bands like The Beatles.

I like rap music, back when it was good. Before it turned into the crappy \"Hip-POP\" that is constantly played on the radio and on TV today. I liked rap back when it was all about creative rhymes, knowledge, messages, having fun and the desire to convey skill, before image and money becaome more important than making good music. Today it seems like anybody with fat pockets and club-friendly production can go multi-platinum regardless of talent. I truly hate rap music today. Probably because I am so passionate about the rap music I do like.

Some of my favorite albums are the following (only listing one per artist/group):

Nas - Illmatic
AZ - Doe or Die
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
Fugees - The Score
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
GZA - Liquid Swords
Common - Resurrection
OutKast - Aquemini
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Ice Cube - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted
Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
2Pac - Me Against the World
Blackstar - Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star
Mos Def - Black On Both Sides
The Roots - Illadelph Halflife
Eric B. & Rakim - Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em
Slick Rick - The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick
Run DMC - Raising Hell
Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
De La Soul - De La Soul Is Dead
Mobb Deep - The Infamous
Dead Prez - Lets Get Free
Big Pun - Capitable Punishment

I own about 800+ rap albums and I know I'm forgetting tons, but just to give you a good idea of what I like. My favorite album of all time is probably Illmatic. It never gets old.

I'm with Strain on this one, probably because I'm a bit older.  Classic rock is usually whats playing for me.  Led Zepp, Boston, Journey, Eagles, blah blah.  I get into alot of newer rock as well though.  Godsmack and Disturbed are probably my two fav's right now.  Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, 10 Years....things like that.

I also used to play guitar in a band YEARS ago in high school.  I've since sold it (1994 Fender American Stratocaster with a half-stack Peavey amp).  I miss it, but I needed the money.  When you get married and get the family life going, it just doesn't seem so important anymore.  Also, I guess that computers have taken over as a hobby.

Edit:  Not to downplay Drew in any way, shape or form, but I can't STAND rap.  Some of the older stuff is good (2 Live Crew), but this trash they call music nowadays is just that...trash (opinion obviously)

I hear ya Chris. No offence to anyone but I personally hate rap and its very existence in this world.

My opinion on Rap is that its a bunch of low talent bums could couldnt get creativity if it slaped 'em upside the head, there was a time of creativness, it was short and its gone now. they always talk about the same crap. If they actually made music that had some good solid meaning, other the drugs, death, sex, and other various crimes, or whined about getting shot, then mayby my opinion would be different. Another think is I just dont like the flow, the way its put out there. To some people talking to a rythym is talent, to me its not.

You see my list I love rock, heavy, classic, Alt. Its my thing. I dont like country either but at least country music has some essence, I dont completely hate it i just dont prefer it. But you can catch me from time to time bobbing my head to a country rock song.

Theres my little opinion rant. If it offends people i didnt mean to but i had to say it.

Good point TekRat, I completely agree. Rap nowadays just is not that good. I don't think it should even be called rap even, since it is more hip-hop with fast talking in it. The lyrics are usually pretty stupid too, though from time to time, I do hear a \"rap\" song with some meaning. Now, I'm not saying that people shouldn't like the new kind of rap. If they like it, thats awesome! Its just not my thing.

As far as county... I defintly see talant in country music. They lyrics (while often about the same thing...) are usually good. I just don't particurly like the country sound. But like TekRat, every once in a while, I may find a country song that I enjoy. My girlfriend loves country music, so I hear it quite often. It is cool though, because she loves the same kind of music as me too, so she knows all the lyrics. She also has an awesome singing voice for almost any kind of music, so she sings to me (and only me... she is really nervous around other people).

Yes, Eminem [s]is[/s] was great. His newer stuff is just plain horrendous, but I won't get into that. His first couple LP's were awesome (Infinite is his best song ever). If you do listen to his older stuff regardless of what you think of Eminem's lyrical content, his lyrics are definitely clever and incentive. He is very talented and I just wish he would show that in his music today. Also, while I enjoy listening to Marshall Mathers LP, Slim Shady LP, and Infinite, none of them would I consider to be one of the best rap albums.

As for Afroman, he's nothing but a one hit wonder. The one song everybody remembers was \"Because I Got High,\" which I will admit was pretty amusing at first. However, it got old really quick. His albums (at least \"The Good Times\") is just like this single; it's just a nice one-time indulgence.

Yeah thats pretty much the sum up of afroman. I have never heard of anything else, or anything more for that matter from him in the music scene. But i could be missing it, our radio enjoys torturing my ears with backside boys the same song over and over again about 10 times per day!

Pop music sucks so hardcore, it's rated XXX. In other words, radio music. I miss this one rock station we had here in Miami. Played awesome rock (Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Nirvana) which happen too be my three favorite. Then that stupid f**kin beaner regaton got popular and replaced the station! God dang anyone who listens to that bulls**t. Daddy Yankee sucks. Anyway, Colt 45 by Afroman is a funny song. Anyway, I don't listen to him. Call me whitey, rock culture. Yes, Eminem has horrible songs these days. The Marijuana killed him. As for Snoop Dogg, consider him dead.
