Yeah, most likely they would try to keep it secret, so other companies won't have any time to retaliate with anything else before it is released. Google work on many projects simultaneously, and even video.google.com and Gmail are still said to be in development stages. Check out GoogleLabs, they have way more stuff in development posted there too.
