All news is good. It's a CC1BE 0610DPMW or something like that; it's a good stepping that's been known for 2.8 at stock volts. Right now, I'm at 289*9 =2605 . SuperPi 1m in 34.56 seconds-woot
I bought an opteron finally. I'm puting my current cpu into a mobo I have laying around so i can have another computer. The problem is that my new opty is PROBABLY teh sh!t, with average o/c speeds at 2.6 at 1.47 volts, BARELY! The last stepping, 0608, hits 2.8 on stock, most of the time. I feel that unless I've done some great deed, I'm gonna get shafted and get a crappy 0607 stepping proc. It would be a shame to put an unused proc onto ebay and probably LOSE money
I ordered from monarch computers(friday) an Opteron 165 OEM for 270, plus shipping. The forums where i've been keeping track of the latest stepping can be found here:
Well, my new card should be in the hands of UPS by now, on it's trek to Texas, and to my computer. I've got to hand it to newegg; complete turn around from defect recieved to re-ship is at about 24 hours. Too bad it's shipped next day air, but It's a friday, so i'll see it monday (exactly a week after recieving the original card).
