I see your point of view as well, but I guess many see it as a privacy violation.
I would also if there was a camera involved and they were taking pics of me on the John :D
Maybe your right, it should probobly be a choice for anyone and only mandatory for anyone who has had trouble with the law so they can be found easily.
And yes, I partially do agree with the fact that the government could somehow tap into the chip and track you down, etc.
I really don't see what would be so bad about this unless you are running from the police for something or another. I personally am not hidding for any reason. Think about what this would save since we wouldn't have to spend all the money tracking down criminals. Also if they could keep track of it somehow then someone on trial could not lie about where they were at a certain time on a certain date.
I like the idea if it could be used instead of carying around a wallet, just place your palm (if that's where the chip is) on a pad and you could pay for stuff this way. Could be used to unlock and start your car and allow you to get in your house. Lots of great possabilities with this.
I would recomend the lite-on. If you happen to find an OEM lite-on drive they should come with the software also, just no box. I have been using a lite-on DVD burner for about 2 years now without much trouble (I tend to buy cheap media).
Just thought I would jump in and state that the 20 pin power supply will work just fine with the motherboards with the 24 pin plug. They are made to be backwards compatable. I would suggest getting a board with the 24 pin connector so you can upgrade the PS later on.
