I'm going to be on Radio 4 tomorrow morning (Saturday 28/10/06) around 9.30am on the Saturday Live show. I'm being interviewed about Pirates, a radio sitcom I write and podcast. It's only going to be for a few minutes but it's all good press and they are going to air about 30 seconds of episode 8. So if you're up and around give it a listen.
People will Pirate stuff if they made it out of Jam.
People were pirating videos and movies as soon as they could, it's just the way things are. The fact their digital makes no difference.
Digital film if anything democratizes everything as it is far cheaper to make films with, Robert Rodriguez swears buy it and makes all his films with them now. And host of others.
people can then go out and make films on a low budget without necessarily having to go through a studio that may not take a punt on them. As a result people can take more risks and make more interesting films. Wolf Creek for example.
I once almost won a Snes Console playing Super Mario World in a competition in a Shopping Centre around the time they were released. I lost by a couple of thousand points.

It was the smart move on SEGA's part. They still have their in house games staff and churn out some good games like monkey ball and made some shrewd moves into publishing (Football Manager, Rome Total War) They do alright so they may as well watch Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft duke it out.
