After starting as a rather empty teaser page, the website for The Sims 3now has some actual information. Some of the new aspects of the gameinclude a refined and expanded creation tool, which should allow for ahigher level of customization for your Sims in terms of both theirlooks and personalities. The game will also finally allow players tocustomize items in the game, such as furniture or wallpaper, bychanging colors and patterns.
What looks to be the biggest change in the game, however, is thatyour Sims can now have a life outside of the house. In previous gameslife revolved around the home and any outside activities (work, school, etc.) were separate and often included in expansion packs. The Sims 3features a "new seamless, open neighborhood" that players can roamaround freely. Screen shots on the site show what looks to be a ratherextensive neighborhood, complete with relaxing parks and a bustlingshopping district.
In terms of a release date, all we have right now is "coming in2009." We'll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
