The problem is though, the X1900XTX's (wtf is with ATI and the letter 'x'?) performance lead isn't huge so the G71 doesn't have that much catching up to do.  However it's good to see ATI stealing the march on nVidia.

I agree. The card has several innovations we have not seen before, but the performance increase is not much over the 7800GTX 512MB.

Yea i think they did a nice job with all the stuff they put into it but as said it doesnt really have a huge edge over the 7800GTX 512MB.

So maby it kicks its nuts but not hard and then it runs away.

BTW nice signature and the bottem part of his face kinda looks like Hell Raizer :P

Look @ the benchmarks from that first link.  The first 2, the 7800GTX wins.  The rest of them, the 7800GTX stays pretty even, only losing sometimes in the higher resolutions.

but if i had a choice between the two i'd choose the X1900XT it's alot cheaper than Nvidia 7800GTX 512 and performs on par.

you mean a 8-9 FPS difference when they are already over 100FPS? Woop-dee-doo i'd just overclock it.
