I use Zonealarm for my software firewall, however if I ever got my network up and running with more systems, I would use a hardware firewall like SmoothWall
I have to say ZA, Me and my dad always use it, and it has succesfuly blocked all them socalled 1337 Hackers :woot: and only allows certain programs to run, 3 Cheers from Zone Alarm!
I would trust Norton the most, but it is a huge resource hogger, as I previously mentioned. I have no antivirus, and I have never gotten a virus either. Some tips on how to protect yourself without a virus scanner:
Use a VERY good firewall & spyware scanner.
Do not visit sites that have a possible risk of transmitting a virus or trojan horse to you.
It is still wise to use a virus scanner as a firewall does not 100% stop virus come to your computer.
The best Firewall would be Zone Alarm free edition but the WindowsSP2 firewall is pretty good and AVG 7 free edition for the best Antivirus.
