I keep hearing that Nintendo may be putting a end to its gameboy line of products and games. I don't know how true this is but people have been saying and supposidly its been annouced at E3. and so far there has been nothing annouced yet on the thought or development of a new gameboy. But there has been alot going on in the future of the DS. Anyone have any comments or links or articles on the future of the GAMEBOY?
In an interview with Reuters this past Monday, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata hinted at the possibility of discontinuing the beloved Game Boy line of portables. From the article: "Nintendo may not launch a new version of its wildly popular Game Boy Advance portable game player so it can focus on the latest hit hand-held machine, the DS. 'I would have a second thought about using our resources on what would be the next generation of Game Boy Advance, considering the strong support DS is now enjoying,' President Satoru Iwata told Reuters on the first day of the Electronic Entertainment Expo."
Looks like the "three pillar strategy" was just a marketing ploy, especially since the GBA isn't even at Nintendo's booth this year.
DS is that popular and has ignited a new philiosophy from Nintendo that is carrying into the hame market. Releasing a new GB would be hypocritical of them. Marketing ploy or not, it was a very smart decision to keep the GB line alive in case the DS fell on its face. GB is really no longer needed.
Pda is Personal Data assistant. its supposed to be a small thing that helps keep you organized with appointments and stuff. and can link to your big pc. I almost got one once but then I saw no need for it.
