I read this info when I was thinking about a new PC for my self, http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/revie...mlld19JRD05MzM=
I know its a 3000 but then the 3200 should be somewhat better,  being that you get a nice round number to clock by (10X)

I know I should have shelled out a bit more on the mobo with the gigabte k8NF-9 being the choice of boards, which at the time showed alot of promise and was stable and performance was also good.

While I have ran this CPU @2.65 on water cooling there is not really any difference between the air cooling that I have (see sig's images of the PC) and I ran this on a different motherboard (asus SLI)
I found that now Im getting some issue with prime95 at 2.5Ghz so have reduced the clock acordingly so the system is 100% solid as a rock, data errors caused re installs and they were getting anoying.

I have used different clocks but the mobo will not allow the HTT value to go below 4X which is very odd as the system fails at post when its set to 3X
I know the ram is fine and it locks fine so there isnt any issues,

SO

Do you think that 1. The HTT is maxing out at 4X which is causing the issue, the NF4 is only rated to 1600 on these boards but it seams to run 1000 fine and even above??

Ntune fails to load.

what can i do about the mobo not running, I did install a older bios before but then there is other issues that arise from this, I also have a F3J Bios but the site I got it from isnt there any longer?? the Gigabyte website has removed F1 and is only showing F2 bt I have acopy anyway  Lucky me!

I wanted to hit about 2.7 Ghz so that I get a better AQ3 CPU bench and that the CPU is not bottling the system.

What do you think?

I just went back to F1 BIOS and the system booted and ran OK @ 2.6Ghz but the LAN didnt work, but I managed to set the HTT to 3X
there was some errors still with prime95 but other than that its ok.
I ran it upto 2.7Ghz but then anything over that and the system crashed ( i used clockgen for that)

I am wondering if there is a issue with the IDE controller thats causing errors with data? It would seam to me that there is a issue with hardware stability @ anything over the 220 FSB mark thats what people seam to be saying about the NF4 boards all over..

If you are sticking to air cooling, then why not at least get a full copper HS?

Well the bulk is copper, so theres not really that much difference the important base part is copper :D  it seam to run cool enought @ 34oC under load and 26oC idle, saying that i have had it upto 40oC but thats still way under
