After hours of fiddling, I still can't get my Bluetooth (BT) headset (Moto H350) working with my PS3. Now, I don't want to get into a discussion of what works and what doesn't--there's plenty of that on the PSU boards. It seems that some people at least are getting the H350 and lots of other BT headsets to work with the PS3. What I did want to find out is if anyone knows why these problems are happening?
I imagine that BT connections can be a bit finicky. I note that whenever I get a new cellphone, there are tons of warnings on it stating that not all BT products will necessarily work with it. But given that the PS3 uses BT for so many integral functions, I imagine Sony has put a lot of time into learning about the technology. So it is a bit surprising to me that I'm having any problem at all.
I looked around my house, trying to think what might be interfering with the device. Sometimes it won't register, other times it registers but then cannot be selected as an audio device. I have tried turning off the BT on the cellphones in my house, unplugging my Wii (which also uses BT frequencies, I think), turning off my PS3 media remote control, turning off all but one of my Sixaxis controllers--still no dice.
Does anyone know anything about how BT works and why it is apparently so difficult to get things working? Are there other home devices that might be interfering here?
Seems to me like another advantage Sony may have at the moment is their willingness to be more flexible with what goes onto the PSN. For example, allowing user generated mods from the PC side of UT3 onto the PS3 game. Or bringing on board more indie developed games (like fl0w, Everyday Shooter, Echochrome).
I'm voting gimmick. I heard the IGN complaining that with all the extra plastic, you can't feel the Wiimote's rumble motor very well, which really undermines the feeling of feedback when you fire the weapon.
This would be great if it happens. I prefer couch gaming, and I don't see any reason why Crysis' control scheme could not be made to work on a PS3 (or 360 for that matter).
Dropping support for '06 sports games seems pretty outrageous. You can still pick these up shrinkwrapped in bargain bins--shouldn't they be forced to pull them from the shelves since the packaging still promises online gameplay. I don't think they should have to run the servers forever, but five years seems reasonable to expect.
Seems like it already has done--the 360 has shot up the Amazon charts after this price drop. Apparently, the Elite has become the top selling SKU, Core remains the worst selling. Just goes to show that even now, almost 2 years after launch, most 360 buyers are still higher disposable income tech-heads, not the Madden masses.
