I can  activate Quick Reply right now, and, about the GameServers...
Quote:
If you were to implement the "Game server" idea, perhaps you could make a feature on this site that shows top scores, top players etc. That way we could host competitions/clan battles etc. We could also rent servers out. A ladder system could be incorporated in a special forum to show current (perhaps real-time) top players or top players in the past.

Secondly, and i'm not sure how this would work, but a table could be made in another forum to show players' favourite games. This could be programmed to feed off the results from xFire (e.g. like my signature, which is embedded in BBCode - i think). This would allow gamers to see who the "most obsessed" players are. It would also allow many gamers to find out what games each gamer likes, and would allow players to meet other players.

When we host these on our Servers in datacentres out in Salt Lake City, Utah, we will find some software like a gameserver portal, like Firstblood CS Forum and Website. We would intergrate this more in to the forum though, and also

Make deals with online shops - allow them to advertise on iVirtua and, in return, make them give discounts to iVirtua members (like 5%, 10% or two-for-one deals). They benefit from more customers/customer awareness and we benefit from being able to boast another advantage/feature for iVirtua members (people are real suckers for discounts)

Click Shopping above.

Make a banner to advertise iVirtua on other sites. This could be given to Advertisers to give to aggreable sites.

We usually make banners specifically for the forums/sites we target, which we already have.

Well, I wouldn't at all mind using the sprays as a form of advertising (not to spray on bodies - on walls and stuff).

It's a great idea, has it been used before, and is it recognised as spamming?

I don't think it is recognised as spamming - no-one monitors server games anyway, nor do they care (they might just think iVirtua was a clan or whatever). When you spray stuff on a CS server it won't be permanent, anyway. This means, however, that people will have to keep spraying them. I havent seen it being used before, but there's no harm in trying - it's totally free, after all.

yes i know how to make custom sprays, they are quite easily done in photoshop.  I also have another suggestion to make. www.cafepress.com . they make all sorts of clothing and items with your logo on it.  The more people buy this stuff, the more iVitua is spread.  this worked quite well in an old clan I was in, where we payed for our servers through the money generated by this

Yes, making sprays is easy, we have the right software and skill to do that, it's not an issue, we already have planned a clothing range similar to Cafe Press; and have some models too, if you read the other topics.

The problem with those two 'features' are that a). we are trying to attract women as well and men and b). we dont want to turn into a 'lad mag' forum as I know some of you will know what I am getting at.  But thanks anyway.

Was my last post edited?!! or is it my browser playing up again.?

I only specified Babe of the day, as most of our members are male. We would obviously have a Hunk of the day thing, as well. With a voting system. It's just something ive picked up on other forums/game sites. Anyway, it was just an idea.

We could use that, I may still do the 18+ Forums, but were concentrating on iVirtua Premium and also a new Site Builder, and advertising.

If you post something you didn't mean to, don't go back and edit it, as it puts all the other posts out of context, just put a little not at the bottom if you have to

well i did not write what i have written in the post above:

"The problem with those two 'features' are that a). we are trying to attract women as well and men and b). we dont want to turn into a 'lad mag' forum as I know some of you will know what I am getting at. But thanks anyway."

that doesnt make sense - who would I be thanking? my suggestion was that we introduce a babe of the day thing which i have seen on other forums. doesnt really matter - someone must have just accidently edited mine instead of replying (although they did reply - just in my post).

Ok, here is another suggestion:

A Book forum!!! - i dont know many people that dont like books, and since we hv been talking about them in our debates on confiscating kids computers (i dont know how we got on to books, but we did), may be we should intro a book forum?

we can use it to discuss books, genres, vote on books, recommend books etc. this forum is for entertainment after all.
