I have found half life 2 to be priceless when over clocking. It?s a game that if there is a instability in your over clock HL2 will sniff it out in a matter of a minute. I don?t think the game its self is bugged. I have proven this time and time again. I have the same crashing issues as others but with some work in bios and lots of testing I have been able to self fix the problems every time.
Half-Life 2 has already proven to be buggy. It's been tested on the Athlon 64 FX-55 w/ nForce 4 Ultra & a 6800GT w/ OCZ 2-2-2-7 2048MB DDR & with nothing OC'ed. Problems with the game with this system.
Even the P4 EE 3.40GHz & an Intel Chipset & a X800XT with the best Corsair, nothing OC'ed has problems playing it.
These examples reflect well over 100?s of systems with various PC parts.
Valve said that they are releasing a patch. But you need the retail copy for it to work.
