Western Digital's newest hard disk, comes with a window as standard. With speeds of 10,000 RPM and a capacity of 150GB, this is definitely a nice drive.

It's cool, but I think I would save the $50 and buy myself the normal version.  I don't spend a lot of time looking at my hard drive due to the fact that its inside my case, and inside a HD cage.

Good to see some innovation, however.

Not if no one sees it. :P

Anyways that does indeed look awesome.  Too bad I'd have to crawl under my desk with a flashlight and cram myself up against the wall to get a good view of my hard drive.

I'd get it, if I had the money.  Then, I'd mod my case, so that it's right up against the case window, so that everyone can see it spinning and working :)

I wouldn't buy this hard disk at all. It is not innovative, and it isn't the first \"clear hard disk\" - it has been done my amateur modders before. The only innovative thing is that they're sold like this as standard. Sure it looks nice, but I don't pay for eyecandy that no-ones gonna see. 350 dollars seems like a complete rip in my opinion..

Modders have also overclocked their CPU to 5GHz (and beyond), but does that mean that cpu prices should all be the same?  No.  when we get to 5GHz stock cpus, they'll be expensive.

Exactly.  Just as it will be with procs when we hit 5GHz (or 4 for that matter).  It'll be more expensive because it's sold as standard like that.
