You guys are probably already aware of AMD?s Dual Core Direction. But just to clarify something for people which do not know AMD?s direction in Dual Core 64-Bit CPU?s.
AMD?s Athlon 64 S 939 Single Core CPU?s were built with Dual Core in mind. This is why they house a 128-Bit Dual Channel Integrated Memory Controller running @ CPU Core Frequency.
The Athlon 64?s also have 3 16-Bit wide Hyper Transport Links which are fully scalable & will most likely run faster than CPU Core Frequency. Right now the Athlon 64?s are only using 1 Hyper Transport Link w/ the Memory Controller.
All AMD needs to do is take there current Single Core CPU Architecture & simple convert is into Dual Core by fusing together the 3 CPU?s HTT links. This is turn will give AMD a performance advantage.
AMD?s Dual Core CPU?s will consist of 3 Hyper Transport Links running @ CPU Core Frequencies enabling the 2 CPU's to communicate with each other. And a Memory Controller, 256kb High Speed L1 cache & 2MB of L2 cache running .
Nice 850 series Intel Fan Boyz. :) PCGURU, Turbo64, and you should have a big competition to see who has the strongest system.
An FX55 @ 3.2GHz and an FX55 @ 3.4GHz out beat 4 Opteron 850 Series?
Hmmm... This should be interesting. By the way, what graphics card are you using? If it isn' t a good one, PCGURU's OC'ed 6800U's in SLI will cream you. :)

Intel will beat AMD to dual core, but AMD will make a massive comeback.
Topic pinned.
I agree when it comes down to sales, but technology wise, AMD's Dual Core's will shine. All AMD needs is a stronger light to make people try out what they have.
Amazing how the majority of the members in this forum are for AMD, yet the Intel Dual Core topic leads 29 posts to the 8 found in the AMD dual core topic.
