Give Your ADVICE on New PC Parts HERE! in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
\"With the price of a 4000+ + about 50$, you could buy yourself a nice FX-51.\"

Im sure i read somewhere that the 4000+ and the FX51 were basicly the same processor with the multiplyer locked on the 4000+. I dont know too much on AMD so i could be wrong.

What is your cup of tea? in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
I voted for \"i dont like any of them\".  Neither have produced any truely inovative products over the last few years. I might get bashed for what im about to say but so be it.

As far as inovation in the processor market goes, IMHO VIA are leading the way, just go to their website and check out there Eden-N processor and i guarentee youl be amazed.

They also have a 64 bit processor in the piplelines for 2006 and are releasing a dual processor mini ITX motherboard in the near future. yah they dont produce the best performing products but that doesnt matter to me as long as its different and has a fresh approach to things.

Best P4 (478) northbridge chipset in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Yes its 533fsb. I dont think there is a 800 fsb (do the math). Am not selling either, i spent my upgrade money on my grand prix ticket so am keepin this setup till i can afford a skt 939 rig.

If your after a 533 try the 2.4 prescott, a friend of mine has one over 3.0ghz on air with decent temps.

Is Maxtor's New HD's the Current Performance King? in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
How come every time theres a poll theres never the choice i want on it?

Anyway my vote goes to samsung, they never get the best reviews nor are they the best performers around but every single one ive had has worked without a hitch untill i finaly got shut of it. This means more to me than any crummy magazine review or performance comparison.

Got my core way up to 500mhz from 390mhz stock but my ram wont budge from 750mhz without artifacts.

Fastest Commerical HDD? in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Id rather have 200+ extra Gb of space than a little extra performance anyday, it realy  just depends on what you want at the end of the day.

I get by on this old 5,600 rpm samsung just fine, it doesnt hold back on games and my boot time is still less than 30 secconds.

I stick by what i said \"overpriced and overrated\"

Fastest Commerical HDD? in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Over here the 74Gb raptor sells for arround ?125 if i spend ?5 more i can get a 300Gb DiamondMax 10 with 16mb cache.

IMHO the raptor is overpriced and overrated.

Fastest Commerical HDD? in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Last time i looked Raptors wernt cheap either so why dont we exclude those and stick to the 7,200 rpm drives?

After the raptor id say either the Maxtor DimondMax Plus 10 or the Seagate Barracuda is probably the fastest.
