Where can I download Linux? in Software
Quote:
I would just search google for the distribution you want and download from there.  That way you make sure you have the most up to date version.

If you need help picking out a distribution try this.

DFI UltraB & Athlon Mobile 2500+ in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
My vcore is currently sitting @ 1.75v for the CPU. Not sure about memory though, need to check. This OCZ EL Platinum series is AWESOME! But, I want to enhance my overclock a bit more. Can someone help me optimize my settings?

And does anyone know any other good Socket462 motherboards that are high powered for overclocking?

Most Useful Programming Language in Programming, Web and Software Design/Development
Quote:
Depends on what you need the language for ;)

If it was for programming software and such, then I would say C++

And for server side programming, I would say PHP.

I don't know any programming languages.

ATI vs. NVIDIA in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security

I vote ATI. Their X850 series gets my vote. :D

Well, I am looking forward to the new R520 Core. It is said that it scors over 10,000 points in 3D Mark 2005 ;)

http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=23752

Bold the said part. ATI says a lot of things, most never come out true. They claim it scores over 10,000, by teh time it is relesed the score will be much lower than that. i am basing this off of previous information like the xeample of the X800xt.

ATI-devoted website impressed by NVIDIA 7800GTX in Entertainment, Film and Music, Mobile devices and media
Quote:
As ATI?s next-generation code-named R520 product is not available commercially, end-users who would like to have leading performance right now are likely to pay attention to NVIDIA?s top-of-the-range GeForce 7800 GTX graphics card. But not only consumers turn their heads towards NVIDIA?s latest product, but also Rage3D web-site dedicated to ATI hardware has decided to review the first GeForce 7-series offering.

It is unusual for web-sites dedicated to a graphics company to review products from competitors, but Mark ?Ratchet? Thorne from Rage3D had decided to break this tradition and has published the first NVIDIA review on Rage3D, which was apparently his first time of hands-on experience with a top-end GeForce.

?What do I think of it? Clearly the performance is nothing short of amazing,? the author said.

?Compared directly to the X850XT Platinum it's easy to be impressed with the 7800GTX. Not only with the outstanding performance of the part, but also with the features it offers. With games already out to support Shader Model 3.0 and with more sure to come very soon, the oft denounced technology is now a truly viable feature that gamers should be looking for in a new graphics card. Couple that with SLI, which has been welcomed into the marketplace with open arms despite plenty of doubts cast on its practicality, and it's all but impossible to recommend anything but the 7800GTX when asked for high-end videocard advice,? the review reads.

Best Motherboard Maker in Hardware, Internet, Networking, Comms and Security
Quote:
I am saying DFI.  Really they are not the most stable boards as they may take a little tweaking to get stable.  For the enthusiast nothing beats DFI boards though.  DFI has been king in overclocking for a long time.

I agree with Drew. DFI 100% of the way. Check out my specs. NFII Ultra B!!!  :woot:

TFT or CRT in Entertainment, Film and Music, Mobile devices and media
Quote:
Currently, the main TFT/LCD faster than a CRT is the ViewSonic VX924 with 4ms response time. Of course, you're paying a hefty price tag of 419$.

I'd still buy it.  :woot:
