Speed for regular X800XT PE:
520MHz-core
1120MHz-memory

Speed for regular X850XT PE:
540MHz-core
1180MHz-memory

Speed for regular 6800U:
400MHz-core
1100MHz-memory

What amazes me is that the X800XT PE is 140MHz faster (total) than the 6800U, and still the 6800 outbeats it in most GAMES. Benchmarks are nothing because they always show X800 has superior (most of the time), but in actual games, 6800's rule. The 6800U even competes well with X850XT PE, which is 210MHz (total) faster than it.

As of now in my SLI setup, my 6800U EXTREME edition's are WAY faster than the X850XT PE.

I say, AMD : Intel as nVidia : ATI.

Not saying that ATI is s**t because it's not! Both cards are freaking awesome, but nVidia will, must, and is dominating. (I find benchmarks as 100% bullshit)

X850's may be producing higher FPS, but the actual QUALITY of the game is better with 6800U's, or further yet 6800U Extreme's.

You mean a screen shot? Or a site about 6800U's?

I would like to see a screen shot of a game while using a 6800U.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. -_-

When it comes down to \"IMAGE\" quality ATI's X800 & X850 XT PE rule in this category. It has already been proven within several credible review sites.

ATI has been # 1 in image quality for video/game rendering. It could be the way there hardware is designed.

Textures on ATI cards are slightly crisper than NVIDIA?s cards.  :) Do some net searching & you will see this first hand. But is really is no big deal, as long as you are happy with your purchase.

I have to admit that image quality favours ATI over NVIDIA. But the difference is not to go crazy about.

If you can wait a wile longer, then ATI's new R520 core will be here.

ATI R520
512MB GDDR4
256 to 512-Bit
Core Speed @ 650 MHz + (Possible Dual Core GPU)
16 to 24 Pixel Pipelines
6 to 8 programmable vertex shader engines
GDDR4 @ over 1400 MHz

Well, I'll stick with the X800 XL for now  OC it. Seeing that is looks to be the best in Price/Performance out there right now. Well, the ATI version that is. ;)

No way. Nvidia's cards are still all about brute force. I can't wait until the 6850 Ultra comes out.   My specs are still p43ning you guys!  :P

That is the difference, NVIDIA is based on brute force while ATI is based on Picture Quality. Remember that ATI has been around for a long time compared to NVIDIA.

ATI has been geared toward amazing image quality with there cards for many years & at the same time being fast.

Right now, the ATI Radeon X850 XT PE
is considered to be the fastest Graphic's Card in the market. Can't wait to see the 6850 Ultra or could it be 6900 Ultra
?

That is all Cool.

When I get my new ATI X800 XL, I'll be posting crazy benchmarks.

PCGURU, both companies have there up's & down's. But this time around ATI is with the higher clocked speeds.

I would like to make a correction here for anybody wondering the GPU speed difference with the X850 XT PE vs. 6800 Ultra.

6800 Ultra is 400 MHz Core Speed

X850 XT PE is 540 MHz Core Speed

In the past, ATI always had slower GPU's but with faster performance compared to NVIDIA's GeForce 4 & FX series cards. This time around NVIDIA has slower GPU's with ultra fast performance. But also this time around there is no clear winner here.

I edited his post and updated all his measurements. Anyways, yes. The 6800 Ultra is still a MAJOR contendor for the X850XT PE.

Check it out:

By the way, Sander is prejudiced against Nvidia. He owns an X800XT PE himself.

humm so if my GT is over clocked to 415 / 1.15 i am probably d**n close to the x850 xt pe stock bench marks.

well my 6800 GT scored 13360 so the x850 xt pe passes it just by a little.

Your 6800GT is a good card. With a little OC'ing you can have Ultra speeds.
Benchmarks are O.K. for reference only.

3D Mark 03 NVIDIA's 6600GT, 6800GT & Ultra are a bit faster than ATI's cards.
3D Mark 05 ATI's X800Pro, X800XT PE, X850 XT & PE are a bit faster here.
