both ati and nvidia have traded the 'image quality' crown back and forth.. whether it be gamma corrected AA or 8xS mode, a combination of SuperSampling and MultiSampling.. it doesn't matter.. they both give excellent image quality.. personally i have always perceived ATI to have better, though i love ati and am biased :P  (most noticed in rainbow six: ghost recon, and UT2004\" .. the others seem equal match

the new 76.41 drivers by Nvidia will match the x850xt pe in quality but some guys dont like them. they make there card run hoter.

More detail = more heat

It seems to me that ATI's graphic's cards render video/image quality dirrerently than NVIDIA's cards do.

This is where ATI is strong. They always had an edge on image quality.

I must say, NVIDIA is doing a great job with their cards. With that much speed difference, the 6800 ultra is keeping up GREAT.  :ph43r: But, ATI currently has THE FASTEST GPU as of now. Notice i didn't use BEST b/c thats an opinion...

But I do admit that Nvidia has better driver & customer support by far ;)

PCGEEK boy is right. Super man is dreaming a bit over the horizon. Sorry Super man, can't fly that high yet. You cannot predict how the G70 & G80 will do against the ATI R520 & R580...
