:D  Just added my vote, Now there both @ 7 each.. just goes to show..

I have always thought PNY were poor quaility cards, you can tell this as they sell them a PC world.
With Nvidia cards Id go Gainward or leadtek there both good
With ATI I go for 3dconnect  (i havent ever used another brand)

I have used both cards and this you may find interesting as a sort of note...
NOTE the AMD3800 sys was AGP the other are PCI express.

AMD3800 MSI NEO2, X800 PRO VIVO (stock),  2 gig ram, 57453, GFX 8397 CPU 9083

AMD3200W,  Gigabyte, 6600GT VIVO, (570/1.12) 512MB RAM, 57082, GFX 8721 CPU 8426

( NOTE: I cannot remember if the CPU was @ stock may be @ 2.55Ghz)

AMD FX55, asus SLI, 6600GT VIVO (stock), 1 Gig RAM, 57347 GFX 7959 CPU 10261

I perfer the X800 over the 6600 for image quality and over clock/ unlock abilitys.

Your comparisons are not fair.

The X800Pro system has an Athlon 64 3800+. The 6600GT one has a 3200+. The X800 Pro has 2GB of RAM. The 6600GT one has 512MB RAM. Big differences between the 2. 6800GT has the most overclockable GPU.

Just look at it this way, NVIDIA is also releasing a new core with 24 Parallel Rendering Pipelines along with there current Marchitecture, but with higher speeds all built on 90nm process.

ATI on the other hand is actually coming out with a completely new core design called R520 & R580. The R520 is the same Graphic?s which is going to be used in the XBOX 2.

This is what I have learned from doing a little research. ATI?s highest of highest will be called the ATI Radeon X980XT PE.

ATI Radeon X980XT PE (R580 Core) (90nm)
512MB GDDR4
256-Bit or 512-Bit Memory Interface
24 Pixel Pipelines
8 Vertex Engines
3Dc Technology
PCI-Express x16
Direct X 9.0 & 10.0 support
OpenGL 2.0+ support
Core Speed = 800 MHz +
Memory Speed = 1,400 MHz +
Etc.

They say that R520 core will be 4 times faster than the X800 Pro & the R580 core is 4 times faster than the X800XT PE.

What a disgusting looking ATI card this will be when released Can you fork over Lot?s of $$$$$$$$.

Having 512MB DDR4 memory is what DOOM 3 needs to take full advantage of its Ultra High Quality settings. ;)

NVIDIA's new architecture will still have the upper hand in Doom 3, as will ATI in Half Life 2.

Oh, I know that NVIDIA will have something in the making with 24 pipes to go up against ATI's new cards, because ATI?s new cards will run DOOM 3 a lot better than anything NVIDIA has out right now.

Have you guys read anything about ATI's Multi Render Tech? ATI had it 3 years ago, & it is said that they will surpass NVIDIA's SLI by far due to its architectural advantage,

I don't know, you be the judge. ;)

Well, NVIDIA's SLI is now. When ATI releases R520 & R580, NVIDIA will release I believe NV65?
