Funny, I format my HD & now my X800 XL is working great. Plus ATI was supposed to get back to me so that I can send them my card ASAP & they did not. This confirms that ATI & even Asus have terrible support.

Anyway here are some benchmarks with my ATI Radeon X800 XL.

And with my DDR500 CL 2-2-2-8 1T. My results seem low for this RAM. I find my DFI's stability not very user friendly at all

Nice. In my HP computer, Athlon XP2400+ @ 2.0GHz, 512MB Infineon PC2100, CL is @ 2-3-3-6.

For my HyperX, I believe it is 2-2-3-6.

no ofence here super but that x800xl you have overclocked is geting the same scores as a stock 6800 gt and with the new 76.41 or 76.50 drivers it gets the same quality to.

I fail to see how it stacks up.

It all has to do with drivers. NVIDIA has better hacked & stock drivers, but ATI's 3Dc kills anything NVIDIA has in image quality.

And ATI will continue winning in image quality with there new R520 core ;)

take it you have not seen a 6800 U with new 76.41 drivers ? the quality gives ATI x850xt a run for its money.

Pc club here by my house has a FX 55 with 2 72 gig raptors on raid 0 with x850xt pe runing 625 on the core and 3 GHz on the CPU with watercooling. saleing for $3578.00.

They have half life 2 and doom 3 on it for demo.

There is no difrence of any kind in quality or speed. The FX 55 is nice but the X850xt pe and 6800 U are a match in quality and d**n close in scores.

This ATI has better quality might have been true in the past but not with 6800 GT,U,UE runing with new drivers.

Not very much. From what I've heard, ATI's Catalyst is much more stable than NVIDIA's drivers. NVIDIA just puts brute force into their products. I saw quite a few benchmarks for games like World of Warcraft where the X850XT PE barely beat the 6800U, while the 6800U beat the X800XT PE, as well as the rest of the crowd.

I know ATI has excellent quality, but you must admit, the 6800 Ultra with 500/1100 sure puts in much competition against the X850XT PE with 580/1180.

Hey I agree 100%. NVIDIA is winning this round along with there SLI. That is great news for everybody.

It just makes ATI work harder. Did I tell you that ATI has the worst Customer Support in the WORLD?  I'm still waiting for them to e-mail me instructions to send my X800XL for repairs. But I already figured out what the problem was & fixed it myself. ATI Tech Support suxxxx.

I don't mean the 6800 Ultra in SLI, I mean a single one.

So, what exactly happened to your X800XL?

Well, the system will constantly re-start over & over, no matter what I did. I couldn't even uninstall drivers, so I did a complete format & Install of Win XP Pro & all is great with Cat's 5.4. Way better than 5.3 & bellow. But I do have one little problem, & that is I cannot bench with Aquamark 3 for some reason.

I get an error message just about when it finishes benching. Then Microsoft's error report pop's up & you know the rest ;)

Any Ideas. Because ATI's customer support suxx big time. It's been over a month & they still haven't gotten back to me.

Try DNA drivers. They might work nice every once in a while. Also, update all your drivers, including chipset, motherboard, etc.

I did, and this is my 5th time I have formatted & installed Windows XP Pro SP-2 with all new drivers.

In Windows XP Pro 64-Bit Edition, Aquamark 3 won't even run at all. I get the Microsoft error message ASAP with one click on the Aquamark 3 shortcut.

I've already notified ATI, but that was about 2 months ago, & they said that they will get back to me ASAP.

Right, I'm still waiting ;)
